Draw 5 tiles. Get all 47. Tileset Forge builds a complete blob autotile set from five small base tiles and exports it as a Godot 4 TileSet with the terrain and every peering bit already set. Open it, paint with the Terrains tab, done.

Try it above: edit the base tiles, paint on the map (left mouse paints, right mouse erases) and watch every cell pick its own tile.

Why it saves you time

  • 5 tiles instead of 47. Island, fill, vertical strip, horizontal strip, inner corners. Every other combination is built from quarters of these.
  • Godot 4 terrains in one click. A .tres TileSet with terrain set "Match Corners and Sides" and all 47 tiles' peering bits filled in. No more clicking bits on 47 tiles by hand.
  • Tested in Godot itself: the exported TileSet is loaded in Godot 4.7 and painted with set_cells_terrain_connect on random maps; every cell gets the right tile.
  • Tiled too: a .tsx tileset with a mixed Wang set.
  • Your own art: draw in the built-in pixel editor or export the 5-tile template, edit it in Aseprite, LibreSprite or anything else, and import it again. Transparency is kept.
  • No art yet? Generate it. Pick grass, dirt, sand, stone, water, snow or lava, a seed and an edge wobble, and the five base tiles are made for you at any tile size. New seed, new variation; edit them by hand after. Also in the free web version.
  • From RPG Maker to Godot: import an RPG Maker MV/MZ A2 autotile (one block or a whole A2 sheet) and export it as a Godot 4 terrain or Tiled set. Tested at 48 px in Godot 4.7.
  • Runs in the browser, also offline. One HTML file, any OS, no install, no account, nothing uploaded.

Free web version vs download

  • Free (above): tiles up to 16 px, live map preview, PNG sheet export.
  • Download: tiles 8 to 64 px, RPG Maker A2 import, Godot 4 TileSet, Tiled .tsx, all-in-one zip, works offline, plus an example set.

What you get

  • TilesetForge.html (the full app), README with Godot and Tiled steps, changelog, license.
  • An example export (grass, 32 px): PNG sheet, .tres, .tsx and template.
